Man wanted after he cuts off ankle monitor and flees

Durham Police is looking for a 28-year-old male who is wanted for failing to comply with a release order after he removed his GPS monitoring device and fled the area.

On May 16 at about 11:20 pm, members of West Division attended a residence in the area of Delaney Drive and Westney Road North, in Ajax for a GPS monitoring device being removed by an accused.

The suspect, being on a release order with conditions to have a GPS monitoring device and to reside with his surety, removed the device and fled the residence. His whereabouts are currently unknown, said a police statement.

If anyone sees this male, or knows his whereabouts, please do not approach the male and notify police immediately.
