More road restrictions in both Oshawa and Clarington

The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of an upcoming road closure of Bowmanville Avenue (Regional Road 57), in the Municipality of Clarington.

It said the closure will be between Waverly Road and Aspen Springs Drive, in Bowmanville.

The region reports that the road closure is required to accommodate the pedestrian tunnel construction across Bowmanville Avenue.

The closures will be over the weekend of August 21 at 7 am to August 24 at 6 am and August 28 at 7 am to August 31 at 6 am. Unfavorable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.

Emergency access will be maintained during the closure, and detour routes will be posted in advance.

The region has said businesses in the area will remain open throughout the construction,

The region advises drivers to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.

Long-term Lane Restrictions in Oshawa

Durham Region is also advising residents of upcoming lane restrictions at the intersection of Harmony Road North (Regional Road 33) and Britannia Avenue East in the City of Oshawa.

Northbound and southbound lane restrictions on Harmony Road North (Regional Road 33) from 650 metres south of Britannia Avenue East to 650 metres north of Britannia Avenue East.

It will be day and night, August 24 to November 20. Unfavorable weather conditions may affect the work schedule.

They say the intersection improvements will be in support of new development.
