Morning shift from 6: Six traffic tickets issued by 7am

It appears that the saying – early bird gets the worm – was proven correct judging by a report from DRPS Traffic Services officer.

A tweet yesterday said Traffic Services is located in the Town of Whitby.

“I was on the road at 6am and by 7am I had issued six Provincial Offence Notices (tickets).”

The officer said it had started to rain in the Region of Durham. Please slow down and drive to environmental conditions.

$725 in fines

An officer from Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) East Division yesterday handed out fines totaling $725 to a driver at Grandview Drive and Southdown Street South in Oshawa (image below).

The driver disobeyed the stop sign and failed to stop for which a $110 fine and 3 demerit points were awarded.

The driver was also charged with driving with a hand-held communication device and received a $615 fine and 3 demerit points.

“Pay attention to stop signs and don’t drive while talking on your cell phone,” the officer said.
