MPP McCarthy congratulates Maple Grove Church on 150th

Maple Grove United Church in Clarington was yesterday felicitated by Todd McCarthy, Member of the Provincial Parliament (MPP) for the Durham Riding.

During the church’s Sunday service, MPP McCarthy offered congratulations to the historic church for celebrating 150 years in the community.

“It is my pleasure to congratulate your congregation as you celebrate the anniversary of your founding and establishment as a place of service to the community, bringing worship, music, outreach and fellowship in the Clarington area,” said MPP McCarthy before presenting a plaque.

Carl Kemp, long time member, received the plaque on behalf of the church.

The service was led by Susan Pleasance.
