New all-way stop in Beaverton

The Regional Municipality of Durham is adding a new all-way stop at the intersection of Simcoe Street (Regional Road 15) and Osborne Street (Regional Road 23) in the community of Beaverton.

The Township of Brock’s latest all-way stop was scheduled to be installed November 8 with the aim of improving road safety.

The new all-way stop will require all drivers in each direction, regardless of whether they’re planning to turn left, proceed through the intersection or turn right, to stop and yield the right-of-way to pedestrians, cyclists and other vehicles, the region said.

This enhancement will improve safety by providing a controlled crossing for all road users.
