Clarington Council has given the green light to a new housing development in Courtice, which will bring 203 apartment units and 171 townhouses to the area.
On December 16, Clarington Council approved a Zoning By-law Amendment to allow the development of 203 apartment units and 171 townhouses at the corner of Trulls Road and Bloor Street in Courtice. These blocks are on the same site as another low-density development, which was previously approved in 2023.
As part of Clarington’s commitment to foster complete, balanced and sustainable communities, the developing neighbourhood will feature a mix of housing options with walkable paths, open green space and a neighbourhood park, said a municipal statement.
No further details were released.

We know how Clarington loves to overpopulate so I’m curious if they are going to have the infrastructure to support this many new homes or maybe they’ll figure it out after the fact. The traffic is way too busy now. I was happy Courtice hasn’t exploded like Bowmanville but I guess all people see is dollar signs.
