Night of overdose, upset partners, intoxication…

It was a busy night yesterday for Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) East Division with officers dealing with overdose, upset partners, drunks and unwanted guests, especially in dark alleys.

Officers are also responding to an assist ambulance call on Nassau St for an overdose. Possibly fentanyl. Narcan was administered by other residents, said one of the DRPS tweets.

“Male party is now alert and concious. He will be going with paramedics to a local hospital to get checked out. This could have had a different outcome,” it later added.

In another tweet, the police said: “We are driving to another assist ambulance call at Simcoe St and John St for an intoxicated male in and out of consciousness.

“The intoxicated male party is up and walking and is being cooperative with our first responders. He will be checked out by paramedics,” it later added.

Intoxicated woman on 401 shoulder

DRPS received a frantic call from a boyfriend. “Officers are responding to a missing person call. Intoxicated female walked into a wooded area near Park Rd and Hwy 401. Boyfriend advised he cant find her. Officers responding to area.

A little while later officers spotted the missing intoxicated female walking on the shoulder of Hwy 401. “A tactical unit in the area will be heading there to get her off the highway safely. She is in the police car now and will be taken back.”

Family troubles

In another incident, police headed to Oxford St complex for a family dispute. Officers called to remove a family member who was not welcome there.

Police said the male agreed to leave on his own accord to another relatives home. “Officers will remain to ensure he has somewhere to go tonight.”

Changed locks on the door

Other units headed to a domestic call on Wentworth St. Wife apparently changed locks on the door. Officers will respond to try and see how we could resolve the situation. Some things can’t be fixed overnight but we will try to keep the peace & hope they sort it out, said another tweet.

Meanwhile, a female officer drove up on some kind of disturbance between a couple near Athol St and Simcoe St. A female party was causing a disturbance swearing profanities. Officers were able to resolve the issue.

Police patrolled Oshawa both in cruisers and on foot.

Dark Alley

“We are out at Memorial Park in downtown Oshawa. Not too many people out on this cold night. Officers are assigned to foot patrols in the core which helps to get to know the residents in the area,” said a police tweet.

Foot patrol officers are speaking to several males who were hanging out in this alley. Homeowner wanted them to be moved off property. They will be on their way shortly, said another tweet.

  1. I think it is sad that you make news articles to advertise what could possibly be the worst day of some of these people’s lives. Hopefully there are no shotty “journalists” around if any of you ever have an experience such as any of these.

  2. I pay taxes for all this BS and I have a right to know. Stop whining about these stupid people! Wasting the time or police and EMS!!!
