No clue on why man and woman found dead, two in hospital

Durham police are investigating after two people were found dead inside a Whitby home.

According to police, they were called around 10:45 am on Wednesday, August 6, to a residence near Fallingbrook Street and Taunton Road East for a sudden death report.

When they arrived, police say a 62-year-old woman and a 51-year-old man were pronounced dead at the scene. Whitby Fire Services tested for environmental hazards, and the area was determined to be safe. Two other people were taken to a local hospital.

Post-mortem examinations have been completed, and police say the investigation is ongoing. At this time, investigators believe there is no threat to public safety.
