No safety concern over social media threats to school

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday allayed residents’ fears saying there were no public safety concerns over purported threats made against a local school.

Apparently there were rumours on social media about the threats.

“We have been made aware of some rumours circulating on social media today regarding threats made involving a Bowmanville High School,” said a DRPS tweet.

It said the incident is being investigated by DRPS East Division.

“There are no safety concerns at this time,” the tweet added.

No further details were released.
