‘No Trucks’ sign is not meant to be ignored: police

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday reiterated that when a ‘No Trucks’ sign is posted, it means no trucks are allowed on that road.

And to show just how seriously DRPS takes violations, officers from its East Division, fined several trucks on the no-trucks Clarington Concession Road 6.

A tweet said several commercial vehicles were charged. Under the Highway Traffic Act Section 182 (2) Disobey Sign, the fine is $110.

Lake Ridge Road collision: Meanwhile, last evening DRPS closed off Lake Ridge Road between Scugog Line 6 and Brookdale Road in Uxbridge.

Officers were on scene investigating a motor vehicle accident. Please avoid the area. Thank you, said a DRPS tweet.

Back to School: DRPS Traffic Services reminded the community that Back to School is coming.

“That means our #inthezone enforcement program will be in place.

“Let us know which community safety zones you feel have issues and we can try to attend in the coming weeks,” is said.

DRPS Traffic Services also reminded drivers that if they are on an undivided road, traffic in BOTH directions needs to stop when signalled to do so by a school bus.
