Oshawa business raided twice for selling magic mushrooms

Three males have been arrested for the sale of illegal psilocybin (magic mushroom) products at a business in Oshawa.

On Wednesday, December 6, members of the Central East Division Community Response Team executed a warrant at a business located at Simcoe Street South in Oshawa. The firm had been observed selling illegal psilocybin (magic mushroom) products, said a police statement.

One employee was located in the business at the time of the warrant and was arrested without incident. Officers seized cash, a large amount of psilocybin products, and edibles in various forms valued at approximately $20,000.

The following day, Thursday, December 7, the business was observed to have been re-opened and operating again. A second search warrant was sought and executed by the Central East Division Community Response Team. The business owner and one employee were located inside, and taken into custody without incident. Officers seized cash, a large amount of psilocybin products, and edibles in various forms valued at over $60,000, police said.

Two from from Oshawa and one from Richmond Hill were charged. One was released on an undertaking. while the two others were held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
