A lawnmower accident has left an Oshawa father; Justin, without half of his foot, and his family without coming months of income.
Justin and his wife Sara’s lives changed in an instant. The dual-income household went to a no-income household. Since the accident, wife Sara has been by Justin’s side while also caring for their young daughter, who misses her dad terribly. Like any child, she doesn’t fully understand why he can’t come home from hospital yet, only that her world suddenly feels different.
Justin’s surgeon has advised that he will be unable to return to work for at least two months. The family is counting on the Durham community for assistance while Justin faces months of rehabilitation ahead.
How to adapt to a completely different way of life
The reality they are now facing includes months of recovery, rehabilitation, medical appointments, mobility aids, and learning how to adapt to a completely different way of life.
Along with the emotional strain, the family have said that they are struggling with the financial burden of losing both incomes at a time when expenses are increasing every day.
Justin has been described as a loving husband and an incredible father. Right now, the family is focusing on helping Justin heal, regain his independence, and return home to the family that loves him so much.
The family has set up a CoFuneMe asking for help to ease the financial pressure during their incredibly difficult time. Donations will be going towards household expenses, medical and rehabilitation costs while the family navigates this unexpected tragedy.
So far 52 per cent or $3,850 has been raised from 40 donations. The target is $7,500.
