The City of Oshawa announced the installation of the centennial community-based art project, ‘How Many Hearts?’ at the Delpark Homes Centre, located at 1661 Harmony Road North.
The ‘How Many Hearts?’ project, created in collaboration with the LivingRoom Community Art Studio and community members, was made with mulberry paper and permanent marker.
The artwork includes more than 300 individual contributions in a hanging display that symbolizes the bonds we share as neighbours, families and friends. Each heart represents a unique expression of what matters most to each community member, and when combined they create a reminder that, despite our differences, we are bound together through the compassion we share for one another and the city we call home, said a city statement.
It said this artwork has been added to the city’s public art collection and will be on display at Delpark Homes Centre for six months.
This project is part of the city’s centennial celebrations. For a recap of Oshawa’s centennial initiatives in 2024, visit oshawa.ca/100.
