The City of Oshawa has launched a new digital tool to help local businesses identify and access government and private sector funding. The initiative, developed in partnership with Fundica, an AI-powered funding search engine, is now available on the city’s website.
The tool allows Oshawa-based businesses to search for financial support programs tailored to their specific needs, streamlining the process of finding relevant funding opportunities.
This new resource was developed in response to feedback gathered through Oshawa Economic Development’s Business Retention and Expansion Program and direct conversations with local business owners. In meetings with the city’s economic development team, Mayor Dan Carter, and Councillor Tito-Dante Marimpietri, Chair of the Economic Development Services Committee, businesses emphasized the need for a simple and centralized way to explore funding—particularly in light of global trade challenges and U.S. tariffs.
In addition to launching the Fundica tool, the city continues to meet with local businesses to assess how market conditions, including tariffs, are affecting their operations. Businesses are encouraged to request a site visit through an online form and explore additional support available on Oshawa’s Tariffs webpage.
This initiative reflects Oshawa’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its local economy and supporting business resilience through innovation and accessible resources.
