Oshawa to change arts centre into a cultural hub

The City of Oshawa is currently accepting community feedback to help shape and inform a feasibility study related to the conversion of the Arts Resource Centre into a cultural hub.

City staff are investigating the possibility of developing an arts venue that can develop and support professional artistic and creative practices, adding capacity for arts and culture within Oshawa. Feedback will be used to inform the recommendations, said a city statement.

Consultants Nordicity, working with architecture firm Giaimo, have been engaged to develop the feasibility study. This project is funded in part by the Government of Canada.

Community members are invited to visit Connect Oshawa (ConnectOshawa.ca/CulturalHub) to complete an online feedback form or on paper at Service Oshawa, located at City Hall (50 Centre St. S.). The feedback will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete, and will be open until noon on Wednesday, April 20.
