Oshawa welcomes visitors back to upgraded waterfront pier

The City of Oshawa has announced that the Oshawa pier has officially reopened following recent upgrades, welcoming visitors back to enjoy the scenic views at Lakeview Park.

The pier offers a space for residents and visitors to stroll, relax, and enjoy the view, according to the city.

To help ensure public safety, the city reminds residents that, under By-Law 83-2000, certain activities are not permitted on the pier. These include diving or swimming off the pier, fishing, climbing on the railings, and docking boats.

The pier is owned by the Hamilton-Oshawa Port Authority (HOPA Ports). Public access is available on the west side of Oshawa Harbour through a promenade agreement between the port and the City of Oshawa.

Located next to Lakeview Park, the pier is just steps from amenities including designated picnic areas, a picnic shelter, playground, splash pad, and the Oshawa Museum. Visitors can also purchase hot food, ice cream, and beverages at the nearby Jubilee Pavilion.
