Pendant taken, shots fired in Oshawa

Durham Police investigators are looking to identify a suspect in a street-level robbery in Oshawa in early November.

On November 3 at about 11:20 am, members of Central East Division responded to a street level robbery near Malaga Road in Oshawa. The victim was walking when he was approached by an unknown male. The suspect assaulted the victim and stole a number of personal items including a gold chain with a distinct Jesus pendant before fleeing on foot, police said.

The victim received non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a male, black, approximately 6 feet tall in his early 20s. He was wearing a black jacket and dark pants.

Shots Fired in Oshawa

Durham Police investigators are looking for the public’s assistance to identify suspect(s) after shots were fired in Oshawa Sunday morning.

On December 6 at around 2:20 a.m, members of Central East Division responded to a call at a residential complex parking lot on Lakeview Park Avenue in Oshawa for shots fired. Members of the neighbourhood called 9-1-1, after hearing several shots. Officers located shell casings in the area but there was no damage, or any signs of injuries. Police searched the area with negative results. The investigation is ongoing and investigators will be checking local surveillance cameras in the area, police said.

There are no descriptors at this time of the suspect(s).

Investigators are asking citizens that reside in the area who may have video surveillance of anything suspicious around the time indicated above to contact them.
