Durham police said they have arrested a suspect last week in connection with a fatal house fire that occurred in Pickering earlier this year.
According to the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS), members of the Homicide Unit arrested a 34-year-old man on Friday, August 1, under a Canada-wide warrant. The arrest was related to the death of a 69-year-old woman who was found deceased following a house fire on June 11.
Emergency crews had responded to the area of Primrose Court and Fairport Road at about 2:20 pm that day. After the woman’s body was discovered inside the home, a post-mortem examination was conducted. The case was then taken over by the Homicide Unit.
A 34-year-old man was charged and held for bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
