Pickering offers new venue for weddings and special events

The City of Pickering’s Dorsay Community & Heritage Centre (DHCC) is set to open this spring, bringing the museum, library, and community centre together in one space.

Located at 2365 6th Concession Road, this facility marks Pickering’s first new community centre in decades, offering residents and visitors of all ages a range of programs, services, and experiences, said a city statement.

With its distinctive architecture and picturesque setting, the DHCC will serve as a venue for weddings, celebrations, corporate functions, and other milestone events.

  • Courtyard and garden space
  • Catering kitchen
  • Welcoming foyer
  • Fully accessible event space

Wedding packages are now available and include ceremony and reception options at the new facility, along with more intimate ceremony settings within Pickering Museum Village.

The Full Wedding Package:

Available year-round on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, the Full Wedding Package includes access to both the Banquet Hall and the Courtyard.

  • Banquet Hall (includes rectangular or round tables and chairs)
  • Courtyard (includes outdoor chairs, ceremony arbour, outdoor heaters, and portable bar)

Pricing:

Large Weddings (80 to 175 guests)

  • May 1st to October 31st – Starting at $5,000
  • November 1st to April 30th – Starting at $4,500

Small Weddings (up to 80 guests)

  • May 1st to October 31st – Starting at $2,500
  • November 1st to April 30th – Starting at $2,000

The Garden Wedding Package:

Outdoor garden ceremonies and cocktail receptions with a capacity of up to 80 guests.

Pricing:

  • May 1st to September 30th – Starting at $2,500

In addition to weddings, the Dorsay Community & Heritage Centre offers rental options for private events (such as birthday parties), corporate functions, and business meetings, available on both weekdays and weekends.
