Police also looking for Oshawa Centre bicycle thief

Durham Police yesterday asked for public help in identifying a suspect who allegedly stole a bicycle from Oshawa Centre.

On Wednesday, July 20, the suspect stole a youth’s bicycle that was locked up at the Oshawa Centre mall at 419 King Street West, said a police statement.

The suspect is described as male White, medium build with tattoos on right arm. He was wearing a blue baseball cap with red stripes, a red scarf, black t-shirt with a Joker face logo, purplish-red pants and sneakers. He was carrying a blue backpack.

Teen robbery suspect held in Markham

Meanwhile, Durham Police said investigators have charged a third suspect in connection to a robbery at a pharmacy in Whitby on June 2.

On June 2, members of Central West Division were called to the Pringle Creek Plaza on Anderson Street for a suspicious vehicle with three masked males inside. The suspects were observed inside a pharmacy in the plaza and fled in a silver Honda Accord when police attempted to stop the vehicle. Police discontinued the pursuit for public safety reasons. Two of the three suspects were arrested by York Regional Police in Markham.

With the assistance of York Regional Police, the third suspect was arrested and now faces numerous charges. Members of the DRPS Robbery Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Toronto and seized evidence and an imitation firearm.

A 16-year-old male is charged with 14 criminal charges which include: Robbery; Disguise with Intent; Possession of Property Obtained by Crime x2; Flight from Police; Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance and numerous firearms-related charges.

He was held for a bail hearing.
