Woman charged for doing 190kmh in Ajax + more…

DRPS Traffic Services yesterday applauded Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) for stopping a woman doing 190kmh in Ajax.

Amazing catch by our partners over at OPP Highway Safety Division! Absolutely unacceptable speeds through Region of Durham. Slow down, it tweeted.

OPP Highway Safety Division said it had clocked a 39-year old woman doing 190kmh westbound on Highway 401/Westney Road in Ajax.

She was charged with Stunt Driving. She also got a 30-day licence suspension and a 14-day vehicle impound.

Truck Jam: The City of Pickering yesterday advised residents and visitors of a traffic disruption due to a transport trailer that had slid into a ditch on Sandy Beach Road.

As a result, there were approximately a 15 transport truck back-up to Bayly Street, it said adding that Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) were aware and on-scene.

Sign of Speed: DRPS Traffic Services said its officers always love when a traffic stop lines up perfectly with a speed limit sign (see below).

This driver was caught doing 124kmh in an 80-zone, and was just 6kmh away from stunt driving charges.

Slow down. Everyone deserves to get home safely, said Traffic Services.

No much change: After day before yesterday’s blitz on speed enforcement, DRPS Traffic Services, yesterday said sadly, not much had changed on Highway 7/12 in Scugog.

The driver below was doing 116kmh in an 80-zone.

Please remember your reaction time is slower than the speed of your motor vehicle, said DRPS Traffic Services.
