Durham Police yesterday said a 26-year-old male is recovering after being stabbed in Oshawa.
On Sunday, April 15 at about 4:40 pm, members of Central East Division, who were on proactive patrol, located a male in the area of Bruce Street and Simcoe Street South in Oshawa suffering from stab wounds.
One report said a timely response by officers to stem blood loss before medics arrived helped save the victim’s life. The report could not be verified with police before deadline.
He was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre in serious condition. His condition has since upgraded to stable, said a police report.
Through investigation, officers were able to determine that the victim and another male were in a minor altercation before the stabbing. The suspect fled the area prior to police arrival.
He is described as male, Black, 20-30 years, a dark coloured hoody with a swoosh pattern on the front, dark colour track pants with a white stripe down the legs, and a medical mask.
Anyone with surveillance footage, dash cam footage or information about this incident is asked to contact Det. Dellipizzi of the Central East Division Criminal Investigations Branch at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 2766.
