Durham Police have recovered 16 sets of car keys stolen during a break-and-enter at a business in Oshawa.
On Tuesday, February 18, at about 5:45 am, members from Central East Division said they responded to a break-and-enter in progress at Durham Truck Tires, located at 446 Simcoe Street South. Upon arrival, the suspects had already fled the scene. An investigation revealed that multiple sets of car keys, belonging to vehicles on the premises, had been stolen.
On Thursday, February 20, the East Crime Team reported that they executed a search warrant at a motel room on 695 King Street East in Oshawa. During the search, officers recovered 16 sets of vehicle keys that were stolen. They have since been returned to their rightful owners. Two suspects were taken into custody nearby, and a warrant is being issued for a third individual.
A 30-year-old male, of Oshawa, was charged and released on an undertaking, and a 36-year-old female, of Clarington, was charged and held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
