Police watch as faster car forces speeding driver to yield

Sometimes we wonder what all drama do officers of DRPS Traffic Services get to see on Durham roads.

The latest they reported was of a speeding driver who had to give way to another driver who was in even more hurry.

Our officer was watching a southbound car going 106 in an 80 zone, said a police tweet.

However, the car behind it began rapidly high-beaming it, prompting it to move to the other lane, it recounted.

Then the back car sped up and was stopped for 118 in a posted 80, it added.

“Was it worth it? No, it never is. Slowdown,” said the police.

It did not provide any further details such as location or whether the first car was stopped too.
