Quebec car thief caught while filling gas in stolen vehicle

Durham Police yesterday said a male has been arrested after stealing a vehicle from a plaza parking lot in Oshawa.

On Saturday, June 15 at about 11:40 am, members of Central East Division responded to a stolen vehicle in progress call in the area of Gibb Street and Stevenson Road South.

The victim exited a local business when he saw his vehicle being driven out of the parking lot by an unknown male. Police searched the area and located the suspect putting gas into the vehicle at a nearby gas station. The suspect was seen inside the gas station kiosk where he was taken into custody without incident, said a police report.

The suspect, age 33 from Quebec was s charged and held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
