Rotary Club to host ‘Shamrockin’ St. Patrick’s Day party

The Bowmanville Rotary Club is  presenting its first annual ‘Shamrockin’ St. Patrick’s Day party in Clarington, on Saturday, March 15 at the Newcastle Community Hall – a celebration of all things Irish.

The statement says that the dinner and dance features traditional Irish food like beer braised bangers, Beef & Guiness stew, leeks & tatties, Irish greens and soda bread, and along with Irish coffee and of course, Guiness beer.

Entertainment includes a performance by the O’Donnell School of Traditional Irish Dance and back by demand after playing Rotary’s Oktoberfest, Madhaus – a party band, playing everything from Ozzy to Madonna and everything in between.

Tickets are $70 each and include dinner. The statement says that all net proceeds from Shamrockin’ go to Bowmanville Rotary, to help the club serve the community and beyond, which they say is needed now more than ever after this year’s pause in the club’s longtime major fundraiser, Ribs & Brews.

“It’s a good opportunity for people to get out of their homes after a long cold winter and have some fun,” says event chair, Rachel Boyd. “They can enjoy great entertainment, all the while helping give back to the community by supporting our fundraising efforts.”

Time: Saturday, March 15, 6-11 pm

Location: Newcastle Community Hall, 20 King Ave West in Newcastle.
