Scugog has a preferred plan for waterfront

The Township of Scugog announced that, together with Baird and TCI Management, it has come up with an action plan for the Port Perry Waterfront.

The action plan makes recommendations for short, medium and long-term actions with respect to recreation, natural and cultural heritage features, economic development and tourism on the waterfront; to ensure that Port Perry continues to be a vibrant and thriving community for residents and visitors, said a township statement.

Its second workshop was held in February where residents were invited to help design options for the waterfront. In the spring of 2020, the township released three options for the waterfront and a survey to gather public input on the various elements proposed in each of the options.

The statement said the township is now inviting residents to the third workshop where a presentation will be given providing an overview of the three options, the results of the evaluation of those options, and the components being proposed in an emerging preferred plan.
