Seven in $50k LCBO theft ring arrested: Durham police

Durham police say seven people have been arrested and more than 300 charges laid following a large-scale investigation into a series of thefts from LCBO stores across the region.

According to the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS), the East Crime Team and Regional Reporting Centre launched a joint initiative in July to tackle a spike in retail thefts. The project focused on organized theft rings, targeting repeat offenders responsible for stealing from multiple locations.

Working closely with the LCBO’s Resource Protection Unit, investigators recovered approximately $50,000 worth of stolen merchandise.

In total, seven individuals have been charged, while three more suspects have been identified and remain outstanding.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the DRPS East Crime Team at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 2735.

A full list of the individuals charged and the wanted suspects can be found at drps.ca.
