Seven youths caught stealing perfumes at Shoppers

Durham Police yesterday said seven suspects are facing charges after attempting to steal fragrances in Whitby.

On Monday, June 26 at around 4 pm, members of Central West Division responded to the Shoppers Drug Mart located at 910 Dundas Street West, after receiving reports of a group of males inside the establishment stealing fragrances.

Employees were quick to notify the police, who arrived on scene and took seven youths into custody, said a police statement.

The youths range in age from 14- to 17-year olds. Six are from Ajax and one from Clarington.

Six males were charged and released on an undertaking, but a 15-year-old of Ajax was charged and held for a bail hearing as he was in possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon. Further details available at www.drps.ca.
