Shots fired at two Ajax homes with residents inside

Durham Regional Police Service (DPRS) are asking for the public’s help in identifying suspects involved in a shooting that targeted two homes in Ajax early Friday morning.

Officers from West Division responded around 12:40 am on April 18, to reports of an armed person in the area of Abbs Court and Willer Avenue. When they arrived, officers found multiple shell casings on the road and bullet holes in two houses and several vehicles.

According to police, the residents were inside at the time of the shooting, but no injuries have been reported.

Witnesses say they saw three males wearing dark clothing leaving the area in a black four-door vehicle at a high rate of speed after the shots were fired.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information or video footage—such as home surveillance or dashcam video—from the area around the time of the incident to come forward.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact D/Cst. Madhavan of West Criminal Investigations Branch at 1-905-579-1520 ext. 2563.
