Speeding 129kmh in 60kmh construction zone

North Division of the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) had a busy day yesterday with a collision as well as speeding drivers in construction and community safety zones.

Stunt driving by excessively speeding 129kmh in a 60kmh construction zone cost this driver 30-day licence suspension, 14-day vehicle impound and a hefty fine, said a DRPS North Division tweet.

The incident happened in the Township of Brock.

Road Closure: DRPS also reported a road closure of the York Durham Townline between Sandford Road and Ashworth Road in Uxbridge.

It was closed for a motor vehicle accident investigation, said a brief tweet.

Meanwhile, North Division officers conducted speed enforcement while crossing guard Niko helped kids cross the road at lunchtime.

The driver below was charged with speeding 64kmh in posted 40kmh community safety zone.

The violation was recorded on Main Street in Uxbridge.
