Stabber surrenders after lengthy stand-off with police

Durham Police said a 47-year-old male is facing a long list of charges after he stabbed a 22-year-old male multiple times in Whitby.

On February 13 at about 1:30 am, members of Central West Division responded to a stabbing in the area of Eric Clarke Drive and Garrard Road. A 22-year-old male was located suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was transported to a local area hospital in stable condition.

The suspect, who was out on bail at the time, was still on scene; however, he was uncooperative. Officers engaged in lengthy negotiations with the male who eventually surrendered without incident, said a police statement.
