Stevenson Road in Oshawa planned to be widened

Stevenson Road in Oshawa is planned to be reconstructed and widened, according to the Regional Municipality of Durham.

It has prepared the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) for the reconstruction and widening of Stevenson Road in Oshawa, and is now holding an in-person Public Information Centre (PIC) for input.

  • When: Thursday, November 24 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
  • Where: Glen Stewart Community Centre, 201 Cabot Street in Oshawa.
  • Why: Public consultation is a key component of the study. The widening of Stevenson Road is identified in the Durham Transportation Master Plan as the preferred solution to address operational deficiencies, road safety and increasing traffic volumes.

The municipality said PIC includes:

  • An overview of the Class EA process and project status to date.
  • A review of the evaluation of alternative design concepts and the recommended design.
  • Next steps for the project.

The region said the material presented will be posted on its website following the PIC and open for comments until December 9 at durham.ca/StevensonRoadEA.
