Stolen cards data used to buy $46,000 of lumber, suspect held

An investigation into a fraud case involving more than $46,000 worth of lumber has led to an arrest, said police.

Between January 9 and February 1, 2023, a male suspect made multiple purchases from a lumber company in Oshawa, arranging for deliveries to two commercial locations in Vaughan and Mississauga. Investigators said they later determined that the credit card information used for these transactions had been stolen from four different victims.

Through the investigation, authorities said they identified the suspect, who was arrested without incident on Thursday, March 20.

A 37-year-old male from Milton was charged and released on an undertaking. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
