Sunderland Arena renovation, expansion project delayed

Sunderland Arena Renovation and Expansion Project has been delayed, according to the Township of Brock.

The timelines for the Sunderland Arena closure have been updated to reflect delays due to cost escalations and the resulting de-scope of the project to meet budget, said a township notice.

It said the arena was initially scheduled to close April 8, 2024. With the delay for approval from the province on the township’s de-scope application, the anticipated construction start has been pushed back five months to mid-September 2024, following the Sunderland Fall Fair.

The notice did not mention the nudget or the cost escalation.
