Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday turned out in force to trace and capture two stabbing suspects in Whitby.
Not only were officers searching for the suspects, but the armed Tactical Unit, Air1 helicopter and K9 teams were mobilised to help find them.
DRPS Officers from Central West Division are searching for two suspects after a street level robbery near Manning and Ribbledale in Whitby, said a DRPS tweet yesterday.
One male located with non-life threatening stab wounds. Air1, K9 and Tactical are assisting with search, the tweet added.
No further details were released till late last night.
Firearm and ammunition seized
Investigators arrested a male suspect and seized a firearm along with ammunition, during a domestic related incident in Whitby.
On Wednesday, May 19, members of Central West Division responded to a domestic-related incident at a residence in the area of Rossland Road West and Brock Street North. During the investigation, police located and seized a handgun, 9mm magazines, 9mm ammunition and shotgun shells.
A 27-year-old male of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with: Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm; Possession of a Firearm Knowing It’s Unauthorized; Possess Prohibited/Restricted Firearm with Ammunition; Weapons Dangerous; Uttering Threat to Cause Bodily Harm or Death; Uttering Threat to Cause Bodily Harm/Death to Police; Possession of Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order and Possession of Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order. .
He was held for a bail hearing.
