Durham Police said two males are in custody after breaking into a residence in Whitby on Christmas Eve.
On Tuesday, December 24, at about 5:55 am, police say they responded to a break-and-enter at a residence in the area of Princess Street and Cassels Road East. Two males used a stolen garage door remote to access the garage of a residence. Officers arrived on scene and took one male into custody without incident. The second male fled the area in a grey SUV.
Officers say they searched the area and later located the suspect vehicle. A traffic stop was initiated and the second suspect was taken into custody without incident.
A 33-year-old male from Courtice and a 55-year-old male from Clarington were both charged and held for a bail hearing. Names and further details available at www.drps.ca.
