Three-day Lake Ridge Road closure ends Monday

The Regional Municipality of Durham yesterday announced a partial closure of  a portion of Lake Ridge Road.

In co-operation with the City of Pickering, Town of Whitby, and townships of Scugog and Uxbridge, the region is rehabilitating Lake Ridge Road (Regional Road 23), said a statement.

“As part of the construction, a portion of Lake Ridge Road will be closed temporarily, it added.

When: The closure will be from September 23 in the evening, to September 26 in the morning. Road reconstruction work is ongoing on Lake Ridge Road until September 2023.

Where: The closure is on Lake Ridge Road (Regional Road 23) from north of Chalk Lake Road to Goodwood Road (Regional Road 21) in the City of Pickering, Town of Whitby, and townships of Scugog and Uxbridge. Traffic is being detoured at Goodwood Road (Regional Road 21) and Myrtle Road (Regional Road 5).

Why: For road reconstruction work.

Detour signs are installed, the region said adding that it realizes that the construction work will be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews. Access to residential driveways will be maintained whenever possible.
