Metrolinx, the operator of GO Transit, announced that works on tracks at the Oshawa GO train station is being done this weekend.
It is scheduled to begin Friday and last until Monday October 16.
The works involve the removal and replacement of existing north track along the platform of Durham College Oshawa GO Station. Crews will also be proceeding with the removal and replacement of the south track.
The work is required to update rail infrastructure to current standards, and is part of the Durham College Oshawa GO Concrete Tie Replacement Program. Regular rehabilitation programs are required to ensure the efficiency of the GO rail network, said Metrolinx.
Crews will be on site between the hours of 10 pm on Friday, October 13 and 5 am on Monday, October 16.
There will be no train service on the Lake Shore East Rail Corridor during this time (see below), Metrolinx said.
There are no anticipated traffic or pedestrian impacts from the upcoming works.
