No GO trains, only buses to operate this weekend

Starting on Friday, October 13 at 10 pm, Lakeshore East rail service will be temporarily suspended until end of service on Sunday, October 15 for important infrastructure work, according to Metrolinx, operator of GO Transit.

GO shuttle buses will be replacing train service between the Durham College Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax, and Pickering GO stations, then express to Union Station bus terminal, it said.

In addition, on Monday, October 16, Lakeshore East rail service will only run between Oshawa GO and Danforth GO station.

There will be no train service to Union Station and customers are encouraged to use the TTC if travelling to and from Rouge Hill, Guildwood, Eglinton, Scarborough or Danforth GO stations.

Regular service will resume on Tuesday, October 17.

Metrolinx urged riders to use gotransit.com or triplinx.ca to plan their trips. Customers can also check the GO Transit Service Updates page for real-time details.
