Couple flee in stolen vehicle… but canny K9 gets them

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday said officers arrested a male and female after they fled from police in a stolen vehicle.

On Tuesday, October 10, members of DRPS Central East Division responded to Lakeview Park in Oshawa for reports of a suspicious person.

Officers found a male and a female in a stolen vehicle, and as a traffic stop was initiated, the vehicle fled from the police.

Officers engaged in a short pursuit before the suspects exited the vehicle and fled on foot. But, with the assistance of the K9 Unit, both were found and arrested.

A 19-year old male from Scugog and a 19-year old female from Ajax were charged, said a police statement.
