One more road in South Oshawa will have traffic restrictions – until September 30 – along with the ongoing road works at locations such as Simcoe Street East bridge, widening of High 401 and Park Road South.
Residents have complained (see below) and urban transportation and engineering professionals said such projects needed to be timed by the City of Oshawa, Metrolinx, MTO and Durham Region so as to have minimum impact on resident and visitor traffic.
Yesterday, Durham Region advised residents of lane restrictions on Wilson Road (Regional Road 35) and Adelaide Avenue East (Regional Road 58) in Oshawa.
These are ongoing until September 30. The region said unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.
The restrictions are on Wilson Road from Olive Avenue (Regional Road 59) to Adelaide Avenue East in Oshawa and on Adelaide Avenue East from Wilson Road to Dover Street in Oshawa.
These are being undertaken to safely rehabilitate the road.
The region said it realizes that the work may be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.
