Traffic restrictions on King, Westney and Liverpool Bridge

There are traffic restrictions today in the City of Oshawa, Town of Ajax and City of Pickering.

King Street West in Oshawa will be closed to through traffic and there will be no through access for emergency vehicles.

Temporary conditions signs will be posted in accordance with provincial standards.

  • When: from 8 pm November 29 until about 2 am November 30
  • Where: between Centre Street and Simcoe Street
  • Why: to replace signage at the top of CIBC building – 2 Simcoe St S

The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of lane restrictions on Westney Road North (Regional Road 31) and Taunton Road West (Regional Road 4) in the Town of Ajax.

  • When: November 29 to June 2023. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
  • Where: Westney Road North, from north of Rossland Road West to north of Taunton Road West, and on Taunton Road West, from Westney Road North to just east of Westney Road North, in Ajax.
  • Why: To safely widen and reconstruct Westney Road North.

A road closure north of the intersection of Westney Road North and Taunton Road West will be required during the project to accommodate construction. Further information, including closure dates and detour routes, will be provided in advance of the closures.

Businesses will remain open for the duration of construction. The Region recognizes there may be potential impacts during the work. Pickering Restrictions

There is a temporary sidewalk closure on the east side of Whites Road (Regional Road 38), between Sheppard Avenue and Kingston Road (Regional Road 2) in Pickering.

The closure is to facilitate utility work for a new development

Duration:  Monday, November 29 to Friday, December 3. The sidewalk on the east side of Whites Road, between Sheppard Avenue and Kingston Road, will be temporarily closed to facilitate utility work for a new development.

There is also a temporary lane closure on the Liverpool Bridge at Beachfront Park to inspect and make any necessary repairs for the safety of vehicles travelling the bridge

Duration:  Tuesday, November 30 until Friday, December 17.

One lane of traffic will be maintained through the closure for emergency vehicles.
