Trucker dad dies in crash just before Father’s Day

A Maple father of three who worked tirelessly as a truck driver to support his family was killed in a tragic accident on Highway 407 on June 18th near Oshawa, just days before Father’s Day.

On a devastating morning, Alex’s truck overturned during his route. Tragically, he passed away before emergency responders could arrive.

Despite the demands of a job that took him away from home most weeks, Alex reportedly set aside at least 30 minutes every single day to call his family, staying deeply connected with his wife Salina and their three young children.

“Alex was the financial and emotional backbone of his family. He sacrificed sleep, time, and ultimately his life to support his wife, Salina, and their three young children: Lisa (17), Maggie (10), and little Eric, who just turned 5,” reads the GoFundMe fundraiser launched by Yaxuan Pang.

The goal is to raise $35,000 and over $30,700 has already been raised.

As Salina (Yaxuan) and the children navigate this profound bereavement, they must also face the heavy financial burdens Alex once carried.

With Lisa heading to university this year and the younger children facing a future without their father, Salina is struggling to cover upcoming educational costs and daily living expenses while trying to protect her family’s emotional well-being.

The GoFundMe’s goal is support this young family during this incredibly difficult time, easing their financial strain so they can focus on healing. Any donations received from this campaign will go directly to Salina and her family to cover the costs of funeral arrangements, immediate living expenses, and safeguard the children’s educational future.

Any contribution, big or small, will make a meaningful difference.
