Two 19-year olds charged with human trafficking

The DRPS Human Trafficking Unit, with assistance from Niagara Regional Police, has concluded a months-long investigation and arrested two males.

The investigation began in February 2022 and involved a female victim who was being trafficked at an Oshawa hotel. On Wednesday, July 27, two males were arrested and charged accordingly, police said.

The two men, both age 19 of St. Catherines, have been charged with: Material Benefit from Sexual Services; Procuring/Exercise Control; Advertise Sexual Services; Traffic in Persons by Recruiting/Exercise Control; and Material Benefit Trafficking Person Over 18.

They were both held for bail hearings. Names and further details available at www.drps.ca.
