Two armed home invasion suspects flee on motorbike

A suspect has been arrested and a second sought following a home invasion in Bowmanville last weekend.

On July 23 at about 6:35 pm, members of East Division responded to a home invasion at a residence on Regional Highway 2 in Bowmanville after two armed males forcefully entered the home. The suspects fled from the residence after learning that a 911 call was made. The suspects fled together on a motorcycle, said a police statement.

On July 25, members of Central East Division located one of the wanted suspects of the home invasion operating a black BMW at Simcoe Street and Hall Street. The driver was arrested and a loaded handgun was seized from the vehicle. Two occupants also face firearms-related charges.

The home invasion suspect from Clarington, was charged and held for a bail hearing. Names and further details available at www.drps.ca.

The investigation is ongoing and investigators continue to look for the second home invasion suspect.
