Durham police yesterday said more than 90 charges have been filed against two suspects following a break-and-enter investigation that led to the recovery of a substantial amount of stolen property.
Beginning on Tuesday, October 7, members of West Division responded to a series of commercial break-and-enters that were linked to a small crime group. Investigators identified the suspects, who were responsible for committing several thefts, including vehicle and licence plate thefts, across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
On Friday, November 14, members of the West Division Crime Team observed the suspects operating a stolen vehicle. Both suspects exited the vehicle and attempted to flee the area on foot but were taken into custody, police said.
As a result of this investigation, numerous stolen items were located, including: two pick-up trucks, a RV trailer, a large amount of designer sunglasses, contracting tools, beauty supplies, a large amount of vapes, jewelry, cell phones, several stolen licence plates, and numerous stolen car keys.
One suspect, age 52 from Alexandria, and a female, age 39 from Mississauga were charged and held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
