Durham Police said an unidentified female was fatally injured after a vehicle she was riding in lost control and left the roadway in Pickering.
On Wednesday, December 18, at about 4:30 am, officers from West Division say they responded to a collision involving a rolled over vehicle on Brock Road near Mowbray Street. A black 2018 Audi sedan was southbound on Brock Road when it lost control, left the roadway and struck a large tree.
The vehicle had four occupants onboard and was driven by a 20-year-old male from Quebec. Two of the occupants were ejected during the collision and rollover.
One of the occupants, a yet to be identified female, aged 18-22, was ejected and fatally injured as a result of the collision. Police say they are currently attempting to identify the female.
The other two occupants were transported to a Toronto-area trauma center. Police have currently listed them in serious but stable condition.
The driver of the vehicle, a 20-year-old male from Quebec, who also suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, was later arrested for numerous offences, police said. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
Members of the DRPS Traffic Services Branch – Collision Investigation Unit (CIU), attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The area of the roadway was closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
