Two would-be Ram thieves charged, released, rearrested, held…

Two suspects from Montreal have been arrested after they were found stealing vehicles in Clarington.

On Thursday, January 19, at about 2 am, the two suspects attended Ronald Hooper Avenue in Bowmanville, Clarington and attempted to steal two Dodge Ram pick-up trucks. The suspects left the area and returned later that morning, but members of East Division intercepted the suspects. A 17-year-old male and a 21-year-old male were arrested and taken into custody, said a police sattement.

The two were charged with Theft of Motor Vehicle Over $5,000 x2. They were both released on an Undertaking.

Upon their release, they both contravened the conditions of their Undertaking and were re-arrested and charged with Fail to Comply. They were held for a bail hearing.

This is the third incident in recent days of criminals from Quebec caught operating in Durham.
