Lake Ridge Road closures start April 28 to June 4

The Regional Municipality of Durham has announced temporary closures on Lake Ridge Road to facilitate construction works.

It is rehabilitating Lake Ridge Road (Regional Road 23), in co-operation with the City of Pickering, Town of Whitby, and the townships of Scugog and Uxbridge.

When and Where:

  • April 28 at approximately 7 pm until May 1 at approximately 6 am on Lake Ridge Road (Regional Road 23) from north of Concession Road 9/Myrtle Road to Chalk Lake Road in the City of Pickering, Town of Whitby, and townships of Scugog and Uxbridge.
  • May 1 at approximately 7 pm until June 4 at approximately 6 am on Lake Ridge Road (Regional Road 23) from south of Chalk Lake Road to Townline Road in the City of Pickering, Town of Whitby, and townships of Scugog and Uxbridge.

Road reconstruction work is ongoing on Lake Ridge Road until September 2023, said a municipal notice.

It said detour signs will be posted.

The region said it realizes that the construction work will be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews. Access to residential driveways will be maintained whenever possible.
